Tambopata Research Center: The Tambopata Research Center is a simple but comfortable 18 bedroom lodge situated by the world’s largest Macaw Clay lick on the uninhabited frontier of the Tambopata National Reserve and the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. It is the perfect place for travelers wishing to take part in not just bird watching but nature watching in general thanks to the high density found in the native species in this region. This is of course thanks to being so secluded from humans, the Tambopata research center is about 6 and a half hours from Puerto Maldonado and is only accessible by boat.
